Charity foundation to grant appliance packages to flood-hit families
TEHRAN – Headquarters for Executing the Order of the Imam also known as Setad-e Ejraiy-e Farman-e Hazrat-e Emam, provides some 18,000 packages consisting of household appliances to the families affected by flood, Mohammad Mokhber, the Foundation’s director has announced.
“Some 4,000 packages worth of 200 billion rials (nearly $5 million) has so far been dispatched to Golestan province, which will be distributed in the next two weeks,” he stated.
Each family receive a package consisting of a refrigerator, oven, blankets, carpets and dishes, worth 50 million rials (nearly $1,200), Mokhber noted, SNN reported on Sunday.
The Foundation planned to provide 18,000 packages to send in other flood-ravaged provinces, as well, he added.
Providing financially struggling families with household appliances, compensating for lost livestock, and generating jobs for people in the flood-hit areas are among the important measures taken by the Foundation, he highlighted.
Some 3,000 jobs are scheduled to be created in Golestan province immediately after the incident, he added.
He went on to conclude that “we also distributed 4,000 stationary packages in Golestan province, which will be sent to all provinces battled severe flood nationwide.”
